XC Skiing, Snowshoeing, Biathlon and Tobogganing at Whistler Olympic Park
In addition to alpine skiing and snowboarding, Whistler Olympic Park, the Nordic sport center for the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games, offers recreational and competitive cross-country skiing, biathlon, ski jumping, snowshoeing and tobogganing. Located 13.6 miles/22 km southwest of Whistler Village in the Callaghan Valley, the legendary Park is easily accessible by car or shuttle bus from Creekside. With 90 km/ 55 miles of groomed cross-country ski trails, 40 km/ 24.8 miles of wilderness snowshoe trails (with 20 km/12.4 miles of dog friendly terrain), and multiple toboggan runs, there are a myriad of ways to explore the areas around Whistler Olympic Park. With its spectacular timber-frame Day Lodge, accommodating up to 300 guests, and the large stadium space, Whistler Olympic Park is host to private and corporate functions, special events and festivals.
